"The magic bus"

Chambly Transport

Feeling nostalgic for the good old days? Then you should check out David Leonardo's article in the St-Lambert Journal (p. 10, 11).
Remember the faithful old No. 10, which trundled up Wesley Blvd. every hour (more or less). And if you didn't have the 35-cent bus fare, there was always bumpershining (conditions permitting).
And later on, there was the much-hated No. 5, which actually backtracked to Brookline and then toured all of St. Hubert before finally heading west for St. Lambert and the Victoria Bridge.

Monkeys and Lion Kept in Farmhouse!
Would you believe that there were once lions and monkeys in East Greenfield? Find this and other fascinating stories on the EGF Timeline page.
Excerpt from Thomas Wiley's book, "Reminiscences of the Trolley Line Communities of Saint-Hubert":
...Here on the doorstep of Montreal were people living a similar lifestyle to those, for example, who were the pioneer settlers on the prairies during the early 20th century. They lived without electricity and infrastructure but with kerosene lamps, water wells, outhouses, homes humble to begin with, wood and coal stoves, and the ever present danger of house fires in winter, bucket brigade firefighting,
and even flooding in some parts.
